[Moderator's note: As suggested by both notes today, the expense is
certainly an issue, and one reason why looking into other avenues (such as
speech recognition) for accommodation makes sense. However, the bottom
line is that SOME kind of accommodation is required by law. Some
enlightened districts circumvent the need for legal maneuvering by
stepping in and taking care of the matter, while others will only provide

could you tell me what are the market rates for hiring a voice captionist
and
what kind of training is required? I believe CART rates and equipment is
quite
expensive for public schools.
