[Moderator's note: Hello, Mal. We've had some discussion of this on our
list before. For example, see:
http://www.edc.org/spk2wrt/hypermail/5650.html

In it, you'll see reference to this site:

Finally, the best academic work in this area is being done by Mike Stinson
at the National Technical Inst. for the Deaf at Rochester Inst. of
Technology. Go to his page at:

Any others on the list who have other info? Bob Follansbee]

Hello,

I am posting for the first time here. My son, age 14 is entering high
school and he is deaf. I am looking into speech to text applications that
help him with group discussions and large group assemblies and speeches at
school. He manages fine with just the teacher's speech through FM. He just
cannot manage the above situtations. As far as I have seen, applications
like dragon are specific to speakers in its file. Is there any other way
to adapt these types of softwares? Any info is much appreciated.

Thanks
Mal
