[Moderator's note. Thanks, Joe.]
I've been pleased with laptops our school system has been getting from a
company called NCS Technologies, a small company here in Maryland. We've
had technical issues (we buy a lot of computers) but they have always been
very good about standing behind their product, fix or replace, and keeping
us up and running. My laptop blew a CDRW at 2 ½ years of a 3 year
warranty, now I have a brand new CDRW, no questions.
I haven't been running Dragon on it, but I had some Voice Rec. on it a
while ago and it did just fine. (I don't need to use it anymore, and
besides, my office is too noisy.)
If you call them, feel free to tell them that Joe from Wicomico
(Wye-com'-eh-koe) County gave you their name.

[Moderator's note. Thanks for the thanks, Sue! List members!!! Please note
Sue's question about a notebook computer. Any thoughts? I personally have
a Dell Inspiron through work and it's fine. Calls to tech support have
usually been answered quickly by some friendly fellow in India. In some
ways I'd prefer to support smaller companies like Acer, especially since
they have a track record of making good products, but I haven't seen their
more recent machines. Any thoughts from others? Bob]
Hi Bob,
I just read your email about spk2wrt ending! I'm so sad! It's wonderful
as
are you. I can't believe it. A million thanks....
Also:
I just thought I'd resend this, as my email's been acting funny, and I
don't
see my msg showing up on the hypermail/archives page...If you have
received
it, but feel like it's too long or there's some other problem w/it, pls
let
me know, so I can rewrite it towards your liking. I looked through the
archives for recent advice on laptops, but didn't see any. Right now it's
btwn Dell and Acer, and I definitely need a computer as soon as possible,
as
my body's not liking this keyboarding stuff.
Thanks,
Sue
