I've wanted to keep 'Word for Word' separate from the list, but you'll
note a bit of info in another message today and I'll pass on more info as
it comes available this month.
As for the rest of the questions, lots of good ones. I had no idea
Scansoft had changed their support structure. Shame on them! Let's see

Thank you for all you have done with the list serve. It has been a
wonderful resource that I am going to miss. Here are my questions:
1. Is there another list serve that people have found particularly
helpful?
2. I don't recall reading anything about Word by Word. Would you fill me
in on what it is?
3. Has anyone complained to Scansoft that in Dragon 8 Pro you can no
longer
shut your system down by saying "Shut Down Windows". The system hangs
every time we try it.
4. The Speech Noise Ratio (SNR) seems to be much higher than it used to
be.
We are seeing scores in the 30's that we hadn't seen before. Is there
anything we should know about this?
5. Any news on any fixes for Version 8 yet?
6. Are we the only ones who have complained that they cancelled their
Service Contracts for clinic's like ours. We used to be able to pay
around
$200. USD per year and get level 3 tech support. Now we would have to pay
$5000. USD for the same service and the clinic cannot afford it. We have
upwards of 40 clients per year that we prescribe Dragon for. All are
disabled and we often run into problems that the average business user
won't. I am venting here....it just needed to be said.
