Ditto what Ed says. I even recommend (especially for kiddos) a Tupperware
type sandwich size container which will hold both nicely and is sturdy.
Sincerely,
Shelley

Becky -the VXI Talk Pro Express with Andrea digital USB converter is very
portable. However, may I recommend that if you travel with it try to put
it
in a small pouch or cloth bag. This will prevent the cords from getting
tangled, and hopefully prevent you from losing the little foam cover over
the microphone.
Also, if you will be traveling with the microphone resist the temptation
to
coil and wrap the cord tightly. Sometimes, this can cause the filaments
in
the microphone cable to fray or be damaged. -ed.

Hi,
Haven't made any purchases yet...waiting for recommendations from this
group!
Quick Question: how portable is this to carry around. Since I don't have
the
headset and pod, I can't visualize. Will the user need to hold onto the
pod?
Re SP2, our hospital is not permitting us to go there yet. I'm running it
at
home with no problem...but I'm not in charge here. ;-)

Hi Becky:
I am using the VXI TalkPro Express with an Andrea USB 1/2 Duplex pod and
getting almost 100% accuracy in very noisy environments. If you are not;
something is wrong. Try downloading the newer sound drivers from their
web
site and have their tech support help you flash the bios (it's very easy
with the Motion software. You might also download the SP2 for Windows XP.
Call me if you wish (I think you have my number). You should be getting
marvelous accuracy with your tablet; again, if you are not, something is
very wrong!
Sincerely,
Shelley

Subject: Headset Recommendation/Background noise
Hi,
Have followed previous recommendations for headsets but not rec'd.
follow up to my questions, so I'm asking again!
We're currently using the Emkay headset that shipped with DNS Preferred
on
a
Motion 1400 tablet. Accuracy is less than optimum.
VXI PARROT TALK PRO EXPRESS-Does accuracy improve with this headset
alone
or
does it need a digitizer as mentioned in earlier posts? What digitizer
is recommended?
USB HEADSETS-Would it be best instead to purchase a USB headset? If so,
any
"best" recommendations?
MOBILITY/BACKGROUND NOISE
We need to be very mobile with the tablet, moving from room to room. If
we train in one room in the house, should the accuracy decrease
dramatically when we move to another room? How much background noise is
too much? I'm quoting Dr. Kelway from a Sept. 30 post regarding
classroom use with DNS
and
hoping we can resolve our problem, " We have had no lasting complaints
about
background noise that were not solvable in twenty years of working with
speech systems. "
Any help would be appreciated. Happy to provide more detailed
description
of
use if required...don't want to clutter the airwaves, though ;-) Becky
