I think they're replies or relating to DragonDictate, however when you
indicate that you're using version 5.0 you are probably using
NaturallySpeaking.

I can add two thoughts to this discussion... first, when you complete the
audio setup Wizard have the user speak loudly (making sure they are in the
noisy environment when they do the audio setup Wizard). This will set up
the microphone with a less sensitive positioning... and sometimes this will
help in a noisy environment. Second, Andrea electronics/Insync make an
excellent line
of active noise canceling microphones (ANC) that may prove very useful in
this situation.-Ed.

Subject: noisy backgrounds

Recently there were two replies to a question regarding background noise
interfering with Dragon in a lab setting.
My teammate and I were very excited about the options that were provided by
Nancilu - adjusting the background noise level to noisy in the options,
recognition - and Dr. Kelway, recognition tab in options dialog box in the
options sub-menu of the voice menu, move the slider to the right in the
background noise level. However, when we attempted to utilize the
suggestions we were unable to locate the settings or menus that were
listed.

Help - we were using version 5, Windows 98.

Thanks for your time and replies!
