    I second the Plantronics SR-1 recommendation. Works great under a variety
    of circumstances, looks great, holds up.

    I also endured a similar frustration in selecting a microphone based on the
    outdated dragonsys info. My solution was to purchase five different
    microphones varying in price from 9.95 to 48.00. I trained and tested each
    of the microphones.I have had enough experience with DNS to feel confident
    in my consistency. I was pleasantly
    surprised to discover the Plantronics SR-1 selling at Office Max for about
    15 dollars was the most efficient.
    It has a fairly rigid microphone . This really cut down on mistakes due to
    screwing up the microphone placement. Could be the effectiveness has more
    to do with that feature than any electronics. For that price, I bought
    each of the kids their very own headset
