Dave,
After discussing this with many of our students who can use both continous
and discrete speech, the choice to go back to discrete speech has more to
do
with there comfort level dictating word by word and editing as they write
with a word box, rather than dealing with the speech coming up and having
to
look/edit without the speech box and usually within groups of words. These
students have very accurate discrete speech files which do not require many
corrections. On the continous speech side, after dictating awhile, they
are
not enunciating as clearly and have more errors. These are just a few
thoughts but we encourage the students who do not have articulation
problems
to try continous speech before making a decision. Those students who are
new
to speech recognition, we usually try continous speech first. Hope this
helps!
