    Nettie,

would like to know if anyone has a specific "pluses" on the best mic to
    work
    in a
classroom type environment. I believe there are mics that help mute out
    some of the background noise,

I highly recommend you stay with a headset microphone for students. You can
see pictures and read about several on our web site. All are as accurate as
any microphone you can use and will work well in moderate noise
environments. The reason I suggest using a headset is the microphone
    element
of a good headset stays in a consistent position which fosters high
    accuracy.
