Yes, it sounds like you haven't created a new profile for the VoiceIt as a
microphone. Go into the new user setup, and on the screen that asks How
Will You Dictate to the Computer select use The Dragon NaturallyMobile
Recorder.
When you start using the voice file do not use the Link software, just turn
the power on the recorder (don't turn on record), and turn on the microphone in
the software. You should have throughput...with a nifty handheld microphone...

I have been trying that with the BuddyQ mike from InSync. It really is
necessary to block out the noise of my hand on the recorder. But-------I
have this huge lag time when dictating as the recorder needs to re-link
every time I begin to speak a new phrase after pausing. Any ideas as to why
this is happening and how to fix??
By the way, I use the MobileRecorder with NaturallyOrganized and Outlook 98
and I love it. I have to use 3.52 instead of 4.0, although the Support web
page says that you can install 4.0 over 3.52. I have not had luck with this
myself, as the program then says it is the incorrect version. My only other
complaint about the recorder is the AWFUL power button--too teeny and hard
to
press!!!
