Enjoyed your input. I have spoken to several persons, schools and parents
who have tried to get a voice recognition software up and running for their
child/student. So far, haven't had any success stories. I think it is
something that is on the cusp...... but will not be a generic tool for a
while --yet. The student caseload that I have most involvement with is
SH/and or LH --- young students do not have the mature vocal tonality that
consistently registers with the programs and cognitively, they are generally
not there yet. I Have spoken to adults of norm cognitive levels who say that
it works for them, but it is not "talk" ready. The comment made is that the
text must be edited after it is in their word processing program and the
words that appear are pretty different from the intended input [ :)]. Oh
well, someday it will be a winner for all!
