Sharon,

Thanks for your clarification of your situation.

adult user. the children's pitch is not as consistent and thus misrecognition
is more frequent.

This last point is of some interest to us in the Speaking to Write project.
Some may remember a "scenario" I wrote a while back of a very smart, very LD
middle school student who has moderate issues in intelligibility, bordering on
severe when he isn't really thinking about his articulation. I was sure his
speech would render NatSpeak or any continuous product unusable, and while I
was right that it wasn't easy, he really rose to the occasion and works hard
with NatSpeak. It is FAR from perfect, but the point above about self-
perception is critical--he feels he has a much better shot at writing using
NatSpeak than any other options, and that perception has made the experience
successful.

This certainly doesn't mean that continuous is for everyone, or that everyone
will respond similarly, but the fact that a person like him can suddenly see
himself as a writer, which he values, is very powerful.

Thanks again Sharon for all your efforts.
