To follow up on your efforts with other students, I'm also concerned about
specific hardware profiles. Be sure that your hardware, and especially your
sound card, is not a known problem, be sure to visit Dragon's own site and the
'Unofficial NatSpeak' site.
For example, they found that certain Dell models had sound cards built into the
motherboard, and these models experienced a lot of interference for speech
recognition. Some of these hardward problems will decrease recognition (and
therefore increase frustration), but have nothing to do with recognition, per
se. Of course, DragonDictate can have the same problems, but seems more robust
in terms of hardware profiles.
