Hello all,
I was so excited to see six registrants to this listserv this morning
and am eager to get the discussion rolling here. In an email to us,
David Marshall raised the issue of the developmental appropriateness
of speech recognition for elementary students. He reports that the
training can be difficult for these students, and we have found that
as well--although not impossible for SOME late elementary students.
From all reports continuous speech products like Naturally Speaking
are very difficult, not only because they are more challenging to use,
but because the voice models (even female) don't work well for younger
users. I'm curious if anyone else has experience with these issues?
