Patty,
Hello. I'm not sure we would fit all your needs, but there is much
emphasis on leadership and character in what our program delivers. My
name is Ed Wilczynski and I run a small organization--PowerCommunicators,
Inc.--that teaches communication and public speaking skills to students
from the 3rd through 12th grades.
Communication and interpersonal abilities are often cited as the most
important skill-set for people, particularly leaders, who succeed in
attaining their goals and becoming the individuals they want to become. We
believe that greater emphasis needs to be placed on building our students'
capabilities in how they represent themselves to others and how they can
effectively express their ideas, questions, aspirations, and passions. Our
curriculum uses principles of character education and leadership as
talking and writing topics in our exercises to demonstrate communication
fundamentals and techniques. Students learn and practice for real life
situations, from simple greetings and introductions to interviews,
networking, and relationship management.
We have recently been awarded a contract to provide Supplemental
Educational Services to the Washington, DC, Public Schools, and expect to
do similar work with other state school systems. We will also be working
with several youth services organizations to deliver our program. In
fact, we have a class of 5th and 6th graders at the Brent Elementary
School at 3rd and D Streets, SE, Washington, DC, where we are presenting
our final workshop this coming Wednesday, May 14th.
Please contact me if you are interested.
