People with different abilities

DISCRIMINATION IS A GLOBAL BARRIER.

From the word 'Discrimination' one would feel concerned to know why the
word
discrimination and who are the discriminated people.

From the words WHY and WHO we may begin to imagine why discrimination
exists
at all, among people of diverse origin, color, physical ability and
non-physical ability.

If a fact must be established the research will in no doubt take us to the
causes of discrimination, the affected group which the term WHO emphasizes
on.

ETIOLOGY OF DISCRIMINATION

The causes of discrimination has to do with psychology rather than physical

extraction, what comes to mind at any point of discrimination exercises is

egoism by common reasoning, this is a position in a social class that
people
believe they are better than others at any point of association, ability
and
race.

The social group is a pertinent of the group regarded as Feudal Group
sometimes we regard them as the Capitalists.

Physical ability among groups indicates readiness to do something, (work).

Any disability among the work force is a result of ineligibility among the
workforce, therefore the two groups result to conflict of intolerance which

does not bring sanity, peace and harmony to various co-existence.

Color is a very vital discussion in the studies of discrimination, people
of
different colors see themselves as being not in the same ranking, blacks
see
themselves strong and superior in mental reasoning, while the whites race
see themselves as the best beings endowed the nature and thought blacks are

semblance of monkeys etc. hence the issue of color now causes a rancor of
understanding, since you are not my color it indicates that you are far
different from me and cannot be complemented in any form, whatever I do
should be distinct from whatever you do, because here it will be quite
understood that sentiment has set in.

CONFLICT

Discrimination itself is a conflict, therefore the conflict at this level,
is a generalized consequences experienced by the brunt of discrimination,
the conflict of discrimination as mentioned above involved so many things
as: Color, Age , Ethnicity, Religion
etc; any extremist in any of the latter will surely find himself/herself in

a state of confusion which is a resultant effect of conflict that may arise

at a point of intolerance. Discrimination if actually understood or
properly
examined will be seen as a product of self-centredness while Conflict will
be seen as a product of discrimination.

In a short words conflict will bring incoherent mutual understanding at any

ecological association, therefore should be seen as a danger to the world
progress and co-existence.

AFFECTED GROUPS

AGE GROUP: The age group in a recent studies indicate that discrimination
is
found steep in the age groups, the older ones believe that the young ones
is
yet to be there either in governance, or working class, hence the older
generation arrogate power and other resources to themselves and have little

or no plan at all for the young or yet unborn generation, this case is a
common case in the third world especially Africa. Yet is a resultant effect

of unproductive labor-force which brings capitalization rate of the
affected
nations to zero and marginal productivity of labor per capital income to
non-conformity.

ETHNICITY : This is a common global conflict today in a cosmopolitan world
where nations begin to rise against nations. Example of this is Pakistan
against India, also in Nigeria is Ijaws against the Itshekiri; Ife against
the Modakekes . In our recent research on ethnicity, we found out the
causes of ethnic crises is nothing but longing or agitating for common
betterments which is always in brand of different agitations which include
mineral resources, boundary disputes etc.

SEX:
Sex is another discriminated group from or before the time of King Pharaoh
of Egypt.

The male counterpart feel superior to the female counterpart, and believe
any position of authority must be fully carried out by men alone, with no
challenges or opinion agitation from the female.

Sometimes the males feel having females around is not to make them work
like
supporting partners, all they are for is to stay at home all day long, the
female children are categoriezed as not mean't for schooling but staying
behind at home doing petty things, while the women are forbidden in all
forms to go outside or looking for jobs, there major jobs is to remain the
housewives, which I regard in my own opinion as Home ? Pain that is
inexpressible.

The most painful things in today's employment gap among men and women is
that most educated women married to the men that believed that their wives
should not work, they should remain housewives, hence this has really
brought unequitably distribution of work-force among women and men;
presently this is affecting the economy of major nations. Among the women
concerned we find Lawyers, Accountants, Engineers etc but remain
unemployment but employed in a family way.

DISABILITY
This is a major affected group in today's world, they are complaining
bitterly but no one seems to hear or care for this group except God and the

Godlies. The group is seriously neglected.

The existing classifications among this group are;
1. Physical disability
2. Mental disability
Those that fall within 'Physical Disability' are those that have physical
handicaps, which could be legs, arm etc.

This group find it hard to get employment anywhere in the present world,
ask
why the question remains inability to perform due to physical disability;
the world forget that deformity in one part of the body is not a total
deformity and if given chance they can prove idealists of such uninfered
hypothesis wrong in a variety of ways.

The other group is a group known as Mental disability:

This comprises of a group with learning difference, psychosis,
schizophrenia
and cognitive disability.

To our organization we believe nothing wrong in employing them, they work
better than any other group and believe they learn slowly but perform to a
satisfactory appraisal at work.

At this juncture I shall give honor to whom honor is due
1) Professor Judith Leblanc
2) Dr. Liliana Mayo

Professor Judith Leblanc is a professor of Emeritus of the University of
Kansas, department of Life span studies; who believe in association with
amiable assistance by Director General of Centro Ann Sullivan Del Peru
reiterated that 'In every disability there is ability'

They were of opinion that this group is a group that perform creditably
well
at work and should be looked upon or called by the name 'People with
different abilities' they learn effectively well and perform effectively
well, she emphasized they concentrate on any direction of obvious and time
taken training and learn better provided its specially designed for the
group.

CONCLUSION

DISABLED
My conclusion regarding discrimination against disabled in a cosmopolitan
world is that it should be a thing of the past and let all the
stakeholders
of employment retake a good step by involving disabled in employment, so
that a new world can foster on capacity building and utilization of all
workforce no matter their differences.

We should also stop seeing them as disabled but 'people with different
abilities' so that the world DISABLED does not have profound effect on
their
mental state; we should avoid in every form not to direct their lives to
untimely grave.

WOMEN
Women discrimination is an inexpressible home-pain therefore the
perpetrators should henceforth hands up and allow them to work in order to
support their family and extended family, also to increase employment ratio

of this group in the economy. Of course they are better group when it comes

to prudent administration with probity.

I remain yours in the Employment Network.
