Continuemos las celebraciones YES!!

Sisters and Brothers of the YES Family:
September 11th is a very meaningful date.
Precisely one year ago, Mexico received the torch to be the host of the
next YES global summit. It is a great honor to carry the responsibility to
make Mexico the best host for YES2004. Today I want to reaffirm my deep
commitment to the YES Campaign.
I remember meeting Poonam Ahluwalia in 1998, and seeing what this
extraordinary woman has accomplished in a journey of 5 years of hard work.
I can only say that Poonam is a part of my inspiration and that we are very
lucky to have her as our leader and director of this campaign.
Thanks to Poonam I have met people like Janet Whitla, President and CEO of
Education Development Center, the organization that hosts the YES Campaign
office, and others such as Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director-General of the
Library of Alexandria and Chairman of the YES2002 Organizing Committee.
Both of these amazing leaders have left a mark in my life because of their
passion and effort focused in building a world with equity, justice and
abundance, which, I think, are some values of the YES Family.
For this reason, now that we are creating the YES2004 Organizing Committee,
we are looking for people of the civil society, government and private
sector, ethically interested in creating value in youth.
We are prepared for the success of the YES Campaign!

Hermanas y hermanos de la Familia YES:
El 11 de septiembre es una fecha de muchos significados.
Hace justamente un año, YES México recibió la estafeta para ser anfitriones
de la siguiente Cumbre Mundial YES. Es un honor tener la responsabilidad de
lograr que México sea el mejor anfitrión para YES2004. Hoy quiero reafirmar
mi profundo compromiso con la Campaña YES.
Recuerdo cuando conocí en 1998 a Poonam Ahluwalia, y veo lo que esta
extraordinaria mujer ha logrado en una jornada de 5 años de trabajo; solo
puedo expresar que Poonam es parte de mi inspiración y creo que somos muy
afortunados de tenerla como líder y directora de esta campaña.
Gracias a Poonam he conocido a Janet Whitla, Presidenta de EDC y el Dr.
Ismail Serageldin, Director-General de la Bibliotheca Alejandrina, personas
que han dejado una huella en mí, por su pasión y esfuerzo orientado en
construir un mundo con equidad, justicia y abundancia. Creo que estos son
valores de la familia YES.
Por eso, ahora que estamos creando el Comité Organizador de YES2004,
buscamos personas de la sociedad civil, gobierno y sector privado,
éticamente interesadas en crear valor en la juventud.
Estamos preparados para el éxito de la Campaña YES!
