We all know that volunteers can play a significant role within the activity
of organizations. It's very difficult to keep a volunteer while you
consider them as a staff. Because comparing with the staff their
contributions are for free. So how we should make a strong team of
volunteers, let's see these in:
1. Supporting volunteers
Do as volunteers should feel as a part of a team
Be sure that they know in what they are participating
Provide them with necessary materials/resources
Facilitate means of communication
Advice with them when it is required
Thank and award them
2. Training volunteers
Introductory courses
Release them from the work temporarily yearly in order to
train, motivate, build team and evaluate
Individual training with a certain skills and knowledge
3. Communicating with volunteers
Spend times with volunteers, include them into planning
processes
Inform on their success
Provide them with the opportunity of work exchanges
Conduct annual conferences and seminars for volunteers
Issue information bulletin on a regular bulletin
Hold events (meetings, travel+)
Let them to SPEAK OUT, and express their own feelings on
everything
